TV Europe Music Awards 2007`

The “MTV Europe Music Awards 2007” are set to explode on November 1 and now Canadians can catch all of the action as MTV and MuchMusic join forces to bring Europe’s biggest music event to Canada on television and online.

Canadians have two ways to watch the EMAs: the prime-time broadcast airs on MuchMusic, Thursday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. ET; hard-core fans who need their fix live can go to MTV.ca to see the show direct from Munich’s OlympiaHalle at 4 p.m. ET.

Hosted by hip hop’s finest, Snoop Dog, the EMAs promise to be one of the most exhilarating nights in music for 2007. The line-up for this year’s show is already a hot list of international stars and more performers are still to be announced.

Confirmed to date are Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas and Pussycat Dolls’ lead singer Nicole Scherzinger (performing together for the first time) along with Avril Lavigne, Foo Fighters, Mika and My Chemical Romance. Complete details on the 2007 EMAs including nominee bios, photos, videos and latest news visit MTV.ca/ema. Immediately following the prime-time television broadcast, the EMAs will be available on-demand at MTV.ca/ema.

Justin Timberlake dominates the EMAs as he goes up for the Video Star Award for “What Goes Around”, Headliner Award, Ultimate Urban Act and Solo Artist of 2007. Amy Winehouse, Avril Lavigne, Beyoncé, Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Nelly Furtado and Rihanna all have three nominations each.

It’s the battle of the females as Nelly Furtado, Avril Lavigne, and Rihanna join Justin Timberlake in the fight for the coveted best Solo Artist of 2007, while the guys in Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy wrestle it out for the Rock Out Award.

Having just triumphed to the top of the charts with his album Graduation, Kanye West puts his gloves back on and returns to the ring for a second round with Justice. Nominated for the Video Star Award with “Stronger”, Kanye will go up against Justice for the second time at the EMAs. Following last year’s defeat, will Kanye be able to even out the score and take the Video Star trophy?

Presenters confirmed for the night include 2001 EMA winner Craig David, Depeche Mode front man Dave Gahan, pop punksters Good Charlotte, British songstress Joss Stone, REM megastar Michael Stipe, System Of A Down’s Serj Tankian, producer and frontman Wyclef Jean, Olympic tennis champ Boris Becker and soccer legend Oliver Kahn.

This year, Foo Fighters Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins add their personal twist as the events unfold throughout the evening from their exclusive bar at the EMAs. Grohl and Hawkins will give the audience a peep in to the behind the scenes news from the winners, presenters and guests, and will provide a perfect foil for Host Snoop Dogg.
