Corner Gas beats Heroes and Prison Break

Canadian viewers have voted with their remotes, and Corner Gas is the hands down winner. CTV’s home-grown comedy series bested simulcasts of Heroes and Prison Break, data from BBM Nielsen Research confirms today.

The shenanigans of the residents of Dog River attracted 1.5 million viewers on CTV, topping both Prison Break (1.35 million; FOX/Global) and Heroes (1.33 million; NBC/Global).

In the key A18-49 and A25-54 demos, CSI: Miami took the No. 1 slot Monday, leading CTV to claim one million plus viewers from 7:30 – 11 p.m.:

At 7 p.m., CTV’s eTalk (486,000) once again beat ET Canada (404,000) before Jeopardy/Access Hollywood on CTV delivered 1.3 million viewers at 7:30 p.m.

At 8 p.m., Marie Osmond’s fainting spell on Dancing with the Stars was watched by 2.02 million viewers on CTV and ranked No. 2 for the night. Dancing with the Stars delivered more viewers A25-54 and A18-49 than Prison Break and led in total viewers by 50%.

At 9:30 p.m., CTV’s Corner Gas became the No. 4 show of the night with 1.48 million viewers, up 14% compared to last week. Head-to-head, Corner Gas led Heroes by 11%.

At 10 p.m., CTV’s CSI: Miami was the most-watched program of the night with 2.4 million viewers, including 1.27 million among A25-54. CSI: Miami won the night, besting Heroes by 41% among A25-54 and 15% among A18-49 and Prison Break by 55% among A25-54 and 32% among A18-49.
