August 2007

Three empty chairs sit on a red carpet while Adrianna Costa tells us that tonight, the three finalists are about to entertain us one final time for our vote before the winner is announced next week in the Season Finale of On The Lot.

Adrianna tells the anxious four directors Sam Friedlander, Jason Epperson, Will Bigham and Adam Stein that last night it was the biggest public vote yet. She reads out three names who have made it. Will Bigham, Adam Stein and Jason Epperson which mean Sam Friedlander has been cut at the last hurdle.

This is their final chance to prove that they are worthy of the $1 million contract with Dreamworks.

They each have to pick two movies that best represented them.

Carrie Fisher and Gary Marshall are here by themselves to judge this week.

Personally, I think Adam’s movies were by far the best of the three directors that are left in the competition.

Here are the encore movies:

Jason Epperson
1-88-THE-LOT-01
Eternal Waters

Sweet

Will Bigham
1-88-THE-LOT-02
Glass Eye

The Yes Men

Adam Stein
1-88-THE-LOT-03
Dough The Musical

Army Guy

Carrie Fisher thinks that Will Bigham is her favourite while Gary Marshall’s tip is Jason Epperson. I’m not convinced that they were being legitimate. Adam should win it as he is clearly in a different league.

Dick is telling Daniele not to trust anyone in the house other than Zach but even then, not fully. He also tells her that she needs to learn to lie. He’s happy that she is finally let him be her dad. This experience for him is worth so much more than the money.

Jen invites herself up into the HoH room and Jessica is annoyed and really thinks she is playing both sides of the house.

Dick and Daniele both know that one of them needs to win the power of veto. Dick is going to make them despise him in order to keep himself in their targets. He wakes everyone up banging pots and pans. He insults everyone and is trying as hard as he can to rattle them and get in their heads. He’s successfully annoyed everyone that’s for sure.

The power of veto game begins and Jessica, Dick and Daniele pick Jameka, Zach and Dustin. Eric is picked as the host again. Dick insults Jameka and says she got her magic ping pong ball again and calls Dustin princess.

Each housequest has to compete in the a challenge in the garden individually. They need to drink some concoctions and the more they drink, the more shots they will have in a game of croquet. The results from the shot for shot game are Zach has 3 shots and earns 3 points. Jameka has 4 shots and earns 10 points. Jessica has 5 shots and gets 17 points. Daniele has 7 shots and gives her a total of 20 points. Dustin has 10 shots and takes the lead with 32 points. Dick plays last with his 10 shots and it’s a nervous game as he needs 4 points off his last shot. He hits the golden pole and gets 5 points and wins the challenge and arrogantly prances around with his POV necklace. He thanks Jesus and rubs it all in their faces.

Daniele and Jameka talk about Dick and Daniele is so tired of how everyone is treating her because of her dad. It turns into a giant screaming match up in the HoH room. Daniele has apologized so many times for her father’s behaviour. Eric tells her that Dick has crossed the line in attacking Dustin’s sexuality, Jameka’s religion, Amber’s motherhood and Eric’s character. Daniele doesn’t think anyone understands where she’s coming from. Dustin appreciates her coming up. Later she says that it was strategy because she doesn’t want people to hate her after her dad goes.

Daniele goes to talk to her dad and says she hates everyone so much and thinks they’re all so fake. Daniele is sad that her dad is about to be evicted and is surprized that she is feeling that way after she didn’t really like the idea of spending time with her dad when she first entered the house.

Dustin doesn’t mind being the replacement. In fact, he’s prepared a speech – that he’s the courtesy flush to pile of crap that’s sitting next to him.

America has given Eric another task. He needs to give Jessica the silent treatment. He decides the best thing to do was to run to bed and stay there.

Jen plants a seed in Jessica’s mind that Dustin and Dick have a deal and that Dustin’s offer to put himself up is going to see Dick still in the competition. She wants to talk to Eric but he’s avoiding her. He talks to her though and fails the task. Jessica thinks about what Jen said and thinks that Eric might be in on it too.

Dick uses the Veto on Daniele at the Veto meeting and Jessica puts Dustin up. In the diary room, Dustin pretends to be upset before cheering that he’s so happy to be up against Dick.

Last week had a shock result as Greg Neufeld was sent home after a fantast week where the Idols performed the hits of Queen Queen.

This week, Ben Mulroney is reminding us that we have to vote if we don’t want a repeat of last week’s fiasco.

It is Pop Rock that the Idols will be performing tonight and are getting some tips from Grammy Award winning Maroon 5 Maroon 5

Tara Oram
1-866-943-6501
Aly & AJ - Into the Rush - Walking On Sunshine Walking on Sunshine
Tara has managed to pull out another good performance this week. Her vocals have certainly improved and she really seems to be having fun on that stage. Jake thought it was a tough song to make your own because it’s been everywhere but the performance was good although there were a few notes that weren’t quite there. Farley thought it was too pop for him. Sass thought it really suited her personality and loves watching her on stage but doesn’t think she sings as good as she looks. Zach doesn’t think anyone could come out and perform like that at a club and stay for more than a minute.

Jaydee Bixby
1-866-943-6502
Lonestar - Lonely Grill - Amazed Amazed
Isn’t Jaydee just as cute as a button? Yes, but his twang is so put on. I simply can’t accept him as an authentic artist. Farley can hear the hearts of 16 year olds throbbing all across the nation but unfortunately his ears are too. Sass agrees and think he also looks better than he sounds. Zach says the same thing he said to Tara. If he walked into a club and heard that he’d be outta there. Jake thinks he’s not believable.

Matt Rapley
1-866-943-6503
Michael Bublé - Call Me Irresponsible - Everything Everything
This is a better song choice for Matt. Marginally. It’s not really pop rock though, is it? Sass thought it was the best performance so far. Zach thought it was a lot better than he’s been the last couple of weeks but people don’t simple that much through stuff unless they’re in a pageant. Jake thought there was a lot of entertainment in the song and thought he looked very comfortable at the piano. Farley thinks he’s evolving and that’s what this is all about.

Carly Rae Jepsen
1-866-943-6504
Melissa Etheridge - Yes I Am - Come to My Window Come to My Window
Carly is very pitchy tonight. That long note was awful. Sorry Carly, not the best week you’ve had. Nice arrangement though. Zach says it wasn’t as bad as some of the others this week. Jake thought what she did was really smart and made it the Carly Rae way. Farley thinks she has the strongest definition of self out of those left in the competition. Sass thought that was the best version she’s heard of that song.

Brian Melo
1-866-943-6505
Live - The Distance to Here - The Dolphin's Cry The Dolphin’s Cry
This is definitely the best performance so far tonight. I absolutely love the way he owned the stage and got into it with the guitarist. Jake thought he disappeared for a while but he’s bounced back and is really doing a good job. Farley loves how melodramatic he is. Sass thought he was confident and sang with a lot of emotion and it was inspiring. Zach thought it was only real performance of the night.

Dwight d’Eon
1-866-943-6506
Santana - Supernatural - Smooth (feat. Rob Thomas) Smooth
Dwight closes the show out well despite the fact that I can’t stand the song. Nice to see him playing the guitar part of Carlos Santana. Love his jacket too. Farley loved the energy of his performance. Sass thought it was a bit of a production but his voice wasn’t there. Zach thought it was cool. Jake did think it was vocally that strong either but really liked his guitar playing. Ben adds it was the first guitar solo in the history of Canadian Idol.

Tomorrow night, one more goes home. Who will it be? Don’t forget to vote!

Dick has no problem admitting he got played but he wont be happy that he was lied to. Eric is jubilant that his friends came through for him and that he’s saved.

Amber says she forgives Eric but she wont forget and needs to keep what she says around him in check.

When Jessica won Head of Household, everyone celebrates and jumps up and down and Daniele and Dick are mad they got played and think that the entire situation was a set up.

Eric says that he had spoken to Jameka and Amber and had freed them from any obligation to him. Dick picks a fight with Jameka and says that at least he’s more honest than the bible bashers in the house. Jameka gets all up in his face and the insults start to fly. It turns into a shouting match.

Zach says that Dick got duped and he’s not happy about it. The peasants are revolting and Dick has no control in the game anymore.

Eric consoles Jameka and tells her that he’s proud that she stood up for herself but they’re going to have a safe week with Jessica as HoH.

Daniele talks to Dick about how terrible she feels that Kail is gone and is crying and feels embarrassed by crying with all the camera’s around. Dick tells her she did a great job but she disagrees. Dick says that out of everything, the most important thing for him is his relationship with his daughter.

Jessica isn’t sure who to put up for eviction and doesn’t want to become one of Dick’s targets because she hasn’t yet. She’s thinking maybe Jen and Zach. She invites everyone up to see her HoH room and there’s photos of her brother who is in the Marine Corp and is currently in Iraq. She gets teary eyed at not being able to be in touch with the outside world while she is in the house.

Dick reassures Daniele that everything can change if either Jen, Zach or Daniele win the HoH next week. Daniele says that if they’re smart they will vote her out.

Dick picks on Jameka and Amber and they fling it back as good as he gets it. Dick winds them up until he gets the response he wants and then mocks their christianity and calls them fakes and frauds.

Amber cries again and regrets doing drugs. Dick has pushed her buttons and she’s a mess because of what he’s been saying.

Daniele tells Jen that she thinks they’re both in a similar position where they don’t really have anyone close in the house and from here on out she is going to have Jen’s back.

This week’s food competition is a benefit concert. They are divided into two teams, the Big Brother Blues and the Red House Rockers. They have to get dressed up and head out to the yard where there are 200 guitars and two stages. Inside the guitars are either $ signs or Slop signs. There is also a one week slop pass. They need to smash the guitars, one by one, against the amp and find what is inside. The first team to get twenty $ signs will eat like rock stars. The other team, will eat like musicians.

Dick finds the Slop Pass and ends up giving it to Jen who wont have to eat slop this week. The blue team win the food challenge and Dick, Daniele, Jen and Dustin have to eat slop for the week.

Zach is still wearing his rabbit costume and is make the most of the time wearing it by entertaining the other houseguests.

Eric gets his instructions from America. He doesn’t look impressed. America wants him to put Dustin up for nominations. In the hot tub Dustin says he would quite happily be put up for eviction this week along side Dick because it would give him smug satisfaction if Dick went 5 votes to 1.

It’s nomination time and Jessica says that there are times that you may only get one chance to evict someone so you should take it. At the nomination ceremony, Dick and Daniele are nominated for eviction. Who will America want Eric to vote for?

Jessica is gunning for Daniele. Dick says you can bet your ass that he is going to make life hell this week.
