This is a copy of an email that I am sending the opposition and to everyone I know in Canada….

I think it’s shameful that you people will play with our economy
and our lives this way.. I am a pensioner and even I know that this is simply an economic update in order to curtail spending as quickly as possible… and all you guys can think about is the monies and perks you are used to receiving will be curtailed and you are willing to put this country in jeaopardy with your political highjinks…. Give us a break and stand up for your country for once in your life.

    Subject: The Government’s economic update

The federal government released an ecomonic update yesterday. The
opposition is threatening to bring the government down on this
    update.
The federal government wants to abolish taxpayer’s subsidy for each
political party which would save taxpayers $30 million per year.
The Conservatives would lose the most but they are willing to
practice some fiscal restraint themselves. The Liberal Party is
millions of dollars in debt which is why they oppose the removal of
this perk. If they defeat the government, they could form a
coalition government with the NDP. Do you want a party like
the Liberals who can’t even manage their own political party
finances to run our country? The Bloc Quebecois also gets a several
million dollars of taxpayers funding annually which is very ironic:
we, the Canadian taxpayers, are paying large sums of money to a
separtist political party bent on destroying Canada. Other expenses
are covered in the update: coach air travel rather than business
class, free meals, etc. The economic update has nothing to do
with possible future deficits, or bailing out any Canadian industrial
sector, it has to do with the government leading by example.
Bailouts may still happen, and we all expect a deficit situation to
get us through this global economic meltdown. The update is about
our representatives sharing in the financial pain we are all going
through. Phone, fax or e-mail your MP and let them know how you
feel. The vote is on Monday. This means that if the opposition
defeats the government, we could have a new coalition
    government next week.

Now we know how politicians really feel…. they are willing to risk the financial stability of the whole country in order to protect their own self interest. They are upset that their Government subsidies that fund their parties with taxpayers dollars are going to be withdrawn. Some of these subsidies are going to a political party that is intent on separating from Canada and we are paying them to do it! The only reason the Bloc will join the coalition is to protect the money they receive from Ottawa. The opposition is also upset that some of their travel perks will be removed i.e. the poor souls will have to travel economy class like the rest of us rather than first class that they are used to. If we think that our economy is tight now… with a coalition Government it will be NON EXISTENT. If we think that jobs are hard to hold now ……. with a
coalition Government you will not have to worry about holding your job- it won’t be there to hold. If you think that our dollar was low in the past … with a coalition Government you can welcome a .50 cent dollar.

NOW IS THE TIME TO CONTACT YOUR MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT AND TELL THEM TO GIVE THEIR
HEAD A SHAKE… STEP UP TO THE PLATE LIKE THE REST OF US HAVE AND DO THEIR PART TO KEEP OUR ECONOMY STRONG.
