The 2007 JUNO Awards Attract 912,000 Viewers

Last night’s broadcast of The 2007 JUNO Awards on CTV finished with a national audience of 912,000 viewers*. Broadcast in High Definition and 5.1 Surround Sound from the Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the two-hour special reached 3.7 million Canadians who tuned in at some point in the broadcast.

At 9 p.m. ET, 1.08 million viewers watched a special two-hour episode of The Amazing Race out of simulcast and airing on CTV.

“We’re proud of bringing the best of Canadian music to a national audience. Congratulations to Nelly and all the performers who dazzled in this two-hour show,” said Susanne Boyce, CTV’s President of Programming and Chair of the CTV Media Group. “Up against a ratings juggernaut in The Amazing Race on CBS, The 2007 JUNO Awards delivered a program we are extremely proud of.”

CTV’s half-hour pre-show eTalk at the JUNOS attracted 550,000 viewers for its red carpet arrivals special at 6:30 p.m. Hosted by Ben Mulroney and Tanya Kim, the star-studded special featured appearances by, among others, host Nelly Furtado, Nickelback, Jim Cuddy, Billy Talent, Hedley, Three Days Grace, Alexisonfire, Tomi Swick, Mobile, DJ Champion, Sloan and Keshia Chanté. eTalk continues their exclusive coverage of the 2007 JUNO Awards – including interviews from backstage in the exclusive eTalk Pontiac Lounge – with a 30-minute wrap-up special tonight from Saskatoon at 7 p.m. ET on CTV.

Highlights from the show are available now on The CTV Broadband Network at CTV.ca.
